Meet and Greet Session 13
A Day of Connection, Insight, and Inspiration: Health and Social Care Meet and Greet Session 13 Lights Up Bournemouth!
Bournemouth, UK, Against the stunning backdrop of Bournemouth’s historic charm and seaside beauty, the 13th edition of the Health and Social Care Meet and Greet burst into life with energy, warmth, and a powerful sense of community. Attendees from across the country gathered not just to enjoy the scenic coast, but to ignite ideas, form vital connections, and drive real impact in the world of health and social care.
Arriving a day early, guests soaked in the sea breeze and sandy shores, while behind the scenes, organisers were busy transforming the venue for what would be one of the most engaging sessions yet.
Kicking Off With Purpose
The day started with a buzzing breakfast and registration. With coffee in hand and name tags at the ready, attendees mingled, laughed, and caught up with familiar faces. The ever-charismatic MC Danai then took the stage, setting the tone for a day full of energy and collaboration. Our valued sponsors were welcomed and gave heartfelt messages of appreciation to those present, recognising the importance of advocating for better practices and stronger connections in this vital sector.
In a spontaneous and touching moment, a suggestion from an attendee turned into a vibrant crowd introduction session, where each person stood to share who they are and what brought them to the event. The room buzzed with shared stories, purpose, and passion, setting the perfect foundation for what was to come.
Keynotes That Sparked Minds
First up was the dynamic Godfrey Mushandu, CEO of Care Quality Support and co-founder of the Health and Social Care Providers Network. With passion and clarity, Godfrey spoke about Healthcare Business Start-ups a hot topic in the industry. His message? You don’t have to do it alone. With the H.S.C.P.N acting as a one-stop hub for business essentials, insurance (Dr Mathew, Eaglemat), legal (Tan Law, Mckenzie & Shupi), accounting (Blue Hector), property (Abdi and Stan), and medical supplies (Medics) the tools to build a successful care business are within reach.
Godfrey’s keynote left the room buzzing: “Don’t lose your business before you even start,” he urged, highlighting the importance of starting right and building strong foundations.
Next, Dr Mathew from Eaglemat Insurance dove into the nuances of tailored insurance solutions, reminding us that “one-size-fits-all” simply doesn’t work when it comes to protecting your business. His emphasis on personalisation and risk management drew nods across the room.
Sam from Blue Hector brought the financial lens into sharp focus, discussing how CQC and OFSTED are now scrutinising financial records to assess operational strength. From secure data management to keeping financial history backed for up to 7 years, his advice was clear: Stay prepared, stay compliant.
We also heard from experts on launching children’s services and navigating the complexities of OFSTED registration, real-world advice that many attendees found immediately actionable.
Afternoon Insights & Future Focus
Post-lunch, we dove into a future-facing topic: UK Immigration 2025 and its potential ripple effects on the care sector. Gwinyai passionately highlighted the urgency of training and development to adapt to coming changes.
One of the day’s most thought-provoking sessions came from Corline of Mckenzie, who took on the serious subject of Criminal Litigation in care. Her insights were a sobering reminder of the legal responsibilities we carry, and how critical it is to stay informed and vigilant.
Finally, Kennedy from Zim-UK Business Chambers Network delivered an inspiring talk on the power of customer experience. In his words, “It’s not just about finding new clients, it’s about valuing the ones we already have.” A powerful message to end the day on.
Networking, Celebration & Community
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the event transitioned seamlessly into a delightful dinner, lively networking, and a celebratory disco. Laughter echoed, business cards exchanged hands, and meaningful partnerships began to form on the dancefloor.
